Sharp Minidisc Helical Gear NGERH0597AFZZ
Description
This is a replacement gear NGERH0597AFZZ for Sharp MiniDisc players. This series has a common fault where the gear cracks, resulting in a TOCa Error as the SLED can no longer move. Typically suitable players: Sharp MS701, MS702, MS722, MT16, MT20, MT161, MT50 etc The original part is no longer available. I have spent years working on a solution to this. Ultimately I decided to build them myself, learning Fusion 360, resin printing and testing the designs. This is my contribution to the community. I have gone through several iterations of designs, and this is my favourite so far. It is easy to install, smooth in operation and only requires 1v to drive the SLED. It is hard to predict how long it will last, but I have installed it in many of my own players, and none have failed once installed. Clearly, the resin will be the main factor here, and I am keen to hear about your experiences. I use ABS resin.
