Aquarium Edge Cover 6mm glass

Aquarium Edge Cover 6mm glass

Description

This is a modular Edge cover. I designed it to fit the specific dimensions of a Innovative Marine 15. However it should fit any tank with 6mm thick glass. I would just print the Middles + edges and then just cut the piece to fit in a slicer. I would cut them only at the horizontal supports to ensure integrity of the edge. I found that printing in transparent petg does allow more light to penetrate to the edges but they light up quite bright. Printing in black does prevent the reflection effect but obviously reduces light pass through. These are snug parts. If your printer is a bit messy, make sure you clean up the internal track. It took a LOT of trial and error to get the hexagons to stick to the build plate and not fail due to thin lines. I was able to print these final files on both a p1p and a voron with minimal post processing. May still need to hit with a heat gun to get rid of some strings. Just keep in mind the hex parts are super thin - they will quickly melt. Only print with PETG as its reef safe + wont break down with water splashes. Do be mindful, PETG becomes more brittle with continued UV exposure. I dont know how long they will last but its been a few months and I haven't had any issues.
