Talgo Truck Conversion

Talgo Truck Conversion

Description

This is my design for conversion from Talgo trucks to screw in trucks, using typical 2/56 screws common in HO scale truck mounting. I clean them up with a DU-BRO 2/56 tap and drill set; makes things easier, as the hole is slightly undersized. With two of these, you can easily convert Talgo truck rolling stock to screw on truck rolling stock. Just drop them in through the top, and add an adhesive/glue of your choice! I used CA glue, but you could use E6000, or whatever you prefer to use. Nostalgic with your old Tyco rolling stock? Now you can easily upgrade it to screw on trucks! Only thing to do after this is add coupler boxes to the body, and these will be as good as any other rolling stock on your layout! Bring your cars up to NMRA recommended weight of course! For ease of coversion, I would suggest Kadee #148s and the narrow coupler boxes, though the standard coupler box will work fine here! Kaydee #5s will also work! For best results, I would recommend printing these on a resin printer. You can make do with a standard layer height on any FDM printer though, However, a smaller layer height would result in a better print. In the pictures I printed with a Monoprice MP10 with lots of mods, and they are shown after some filing to clean the print. As always, my prints are FREE, though donations are always appreciated. Happy railroading! -RC Perspective
