Quest 3 USB-C Headstrap Clip

Quest 3 USB-C Headstrap Clip

Description

This is a simple cable management solution for keeping your USB-C cable out of way during Meta Quest 3 gaming sessions! This also acts as a strain relief for the end of the cable the plugs into the headset, hopefully lengthening the lifespan of your charging cable (90° USB-C cable highly recommended to keep the whole assembly sleek). Recommended install order is as follows: 1. Slide top of printed clip down onto stock Quest 3 headstrap, then bend/roll the bottom end into the bottom of clip (open end of clip should face upwards). 2. Slide clip as far back as it will go (up against rear adjustment bands if possible), you should feel slight resistance while sliding. If the clip feels like it's snagging, take it off and shave those burrs off! 3. Plug USB-C cable (the 90° end if applicable) into headset. 4. Flex open end of clip just wide enough to fit the cable through. 5. Gently push cable down into an appropriate notch (not loose, not overly snug). 6. Squeeze open end together until it snaps shut. 7. Give the cable a slight tug to make sure it's securely clamped. Visually verify that it's not being overly constricted either. My setup is with a 1000 mAh power bank in my left or back pocket and it's freed me from the ~1 hour battery life of the Quest 3 on its own. Just make sure the battery can output at least 20 Watts and that the USB-C cable can accommodate that power as well (USB-A cables aren't typically/ever(?) rated that high). With this, my Quest 3 doesn't charge while playing and plugged in, but it doesn't deplete either. A few play sessions point towards about 4-5 hours of extra playtime, so about 5-6 hours total with the internal battery. Pretty good with a power bank that comes in at just 7 oz!
