Dwarf ii EQ Support Cradle
Description
NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE!!!! If you want to make these to sell, please contact me and we can discuss it. If I find anyone selling these on eBay, Marketplace, Etsy, etc. I will take what I consider to be appropriate action. This is a design for a cradle to support the Azimuth motor and gears when using the Dwarf ii Telescope in an equitorially aligned position. IT IS NOT A MOUNT - it's a support structure thats there to help take the strain and you will still need to put the Dwarf and support cradle on a tripod/balljoint/wedge. Things to note: 1. STEP and STL files are included. Please feel free to remix!! 2. I printed the support arm in 3 parts - see the "Print File" stl for orientation 3. The 3 part support arm has holes threaded for M3 bolts but you'll want to use glue too 4. The "mirror" base allows access to the USB port and swings the arm to the east (NCP) 5. The normal base swings the arm west from the northern celestial pole One major thing to note is that the current bearing was "what I had" rather than "what's needed". Adjusting the size of the bearing will mean changing the size of the connector to the cradle. I will be remixing this so that rather than using a 3D printed connection it's replaced by a bolt to minimise re-print requirements. I'll also be looking at whether a cover top and bottom would be wise to reduce corrosion of the bearing. If you do remix this, please link back to my original design. Thanks PARTS LIST: 6200-2Rz closed ring bearing (10mm centre hole, 30mm wide and 9mm deep) 4 x M3 bolts. From memory, I made the depth around 40mm, but you don't need anything quite so long!! Half that will do.
