*UNTESTED* A2 Fixed Carry Handle (Airsoft)
Description
**THIS IS, AS OF NOW, COMPLETELY UNTESTED** If you choose to print in this state you either are willing to provide feedback, or are determine to rig it up your self. You have been warned. I will test myself as it comes up ion my print queue ---------------------- General Description ---------------------- I've noticed there is an awful lot of modern is todays Modern Sporting Airsoft units. It disgusts me. Follow me on my journey to create an A2-style fixed carry with functional rear sights with functional windage/elevation adjustments. Insight: I intend for the Knobs to be SLA printed. You likely can FDM print them, but they will not look as good Threaded components will need to be SLA printed as well. If you choose to go with FDM, prepare to chase the threads with the appropriate taps. In fact, you should do that anyway. If my calculations aren't scuffed, the sights will need to work with the standard 2.6" front sights Nuts and bolts are intended to be purchase items. Although, if you are an absolute psychopath you can print them too if you want. I have provided STLs for this. They are metric, sorry -_-; I currently have 2 versions of the rear aperture. One is the classic look, while the other has etched crosshairs, which I personally think help with aiming. I imagine the etching would only be helpful when print with SLA. I currently have 2 versions of the sight nest. One is the classic look, while the MOD version has a tapered rear to follow the profile of the handle itself. I think it adds a nice personal touch. The plug is there to cover up the hole used to install the elevation adjustment bolt. It is completely unnecessary, only for those who want to glue it in place. I intend for the aperture spring to be made from TPU. It may be feasible to make it from PLA+, or something else with a decent amount of flex. ---------------------- 2023.10.23 Update ---------------------- Unable to find a good source of M3 and M4 fine hex head bolts, assembly has been redesigned with SHCS Elevation knob has a way more logical design, instead of a bolt threading into the Sight Nest, a M3 SHCS is pressed into the bottom of the nest. This removes the force from the thread to a larger round surface. Also removes the need for a plug. Added 0.7 version of the Rear Sight Aperture (labelled 0.7), as those bolts are way more common. They should help with testing but at the cost of a finer windage adjustment.
