Front wheel mount with tension spacer
Description
The Durafly D.H.100 vampire 70mm EDF Jet 1100mm landing gear mount is only a 6mm plywood plate that is glued to the foam. After a couple of failed start tests the weel already has been broken, therefore a made a mount bay for the front wheel that is glued over a larger area with foam and in addition has a lock on the larger plywood plate for the battery mount. I highly recommend to mark the position of the servo arm and remove it for assembling the front wheel.Depending on the length of the metal wires, there are 3 sizes of mounts. best start with the minus 4mm and check if that fits. The mount wall toward the nose is reduced by 2mm, 3mm and 4mm moving the wheel forward and tension the wires. If that is not enough, just the space and glue it on the arm. Print the mount with 10% infill, see picture, that is light and strong enough. I increase the PLA temperture slightly. The servo arm part has been printed 100%, the wheel lock has been printed with 15%.
