Kyosho MR03 mario cart conversion

Description

These are the items I designed to be able to modify some 12cm (5") PVC pull back racer Mario Karts that I purchased off ebay to adapt them to the Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03 box stock cars. My goal was to create something that could easily and quickly be put onto a chassis, driven, and then removed to get the car back to stock. I also wanted to change as little as possible from the stock MR03 (shocks, etc), the stock shock fits just fine under the character. Remove the front nose of the pull back racer and using the original screws, put it onto the 3D printed front body clip. Then mount it to the car, don't forget to use the spring holder with the new front clip! Remove the two side pieces from the pull back racer and screw them onto the printed body clips using the original screws. Attach two of the body mounts to the rear posts on the Mini-Z chassis using regular plastic thread (coarse) screws, 4mm will work, but use 6mm if you can. Angle them slightly (toe-in!) to better match the character. I normally run Mosler bodies on our stock fleet, I've found the mosler bodies still fit while leaving these mounts in place (bonus!). Now the "hard" part. You'll need to cut down the pull back racer to get it to fit onto the Mini-Z, check out the pictures to see where I cut. The screw holes for holding the character onto the chassis are 12mm from the back, 5mm down from the top on the sides (look at the pictures for reference). Attach the character to the body mounts using the original screws from the pull back racer. Printing: I printed everything in Polymaker ASA. I used a .4mm nozzle and printed at .1mm layer heights (.2 would probably work fine). You will need to print one of the front body mounts, two of the body/character battery clips/mounts, and two of the side/battery clips per chassis. The side/battery clip will need to be printed as is (for the right clip) and then mirrored in the slicer to print for the left. Print some extra battery clips, there is a weak part that clips onto the bottom of the chassis. You can also use a rubber band around both clips under the chassis to help keep them on if they don't hold enough. Props/credit to! 62Marder, I used his battery clips and modded them adding the side mount from the pull back racer sides. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4309873 Jonathan S on Facebook after seeing the ones he did and how much fun it would be to try and make some myself. Disclaimer: I do not know if these will work for adapting anything other than the pull back racers I bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/123189709018
