Cell Phone Adapter for Olympus CX23
Description
This adapter is a universal smartphone / cell phone adapter / platform to use on the eyepiece of a Olympus CX 23 microscope. There are two parts to this design to allow for color coding different adapters by the ring portion of the design. You can see this in the example picture of the assembled piece. I prefer to print the main body in black to eliminate any potential color interference when in use. This adapter was designed to have a 1mm piece of adhesive foam added onto the top platform for added phone stability and phone protection. Not using the 1mm piece of foam may affect the autofocusing on your smartphone camera depending on the model. The foam was ordered from Amazon and any self adhesive 1mm foam sheet will work for the foam cutout. This design is based off of a design by Elliot Weinthal and ScopeSnap. My design changed the focal distances to allow the camera in most smartphones to autofocus on the image better. The image is also a wider field of view as a result of the focal distance change. The wider ring portion also allows for more stability of the smartphone for the user. I hope you enjoy!
