Fishing Dinghy with Wheels 1:87 scale, 1:6 scale

Fishing Dinghy with Wheels 1:87 scale, 1:6 scale

Description

This dinghy was found and 3D-scanned in Ardrossan Marina in Scotland. It has a lovely bluff bow and some less lovely foldable wheels on the transom. It apparently spent some of its time as a small line fishing dinghy, due to the rod holders on the aft seat. I suspect that at some time it may have suffered some kind of accident; the main bench seat has fallen out of its GRP sockets, implying that the hull was flexed open quite widely. It was also full of water (at least it still floats) and - more interestingly - sand, despite there being no sand nearby on the hard standing. I reckon it washed ashore at some point, or was blown about a beach and filled with sand, causing the seat to break. I've included a 1:6 scale version too, which should resize well to other large scales and is should be well suited for making an RC or trailered version....I can recommend my open source outboard motor for propulsion: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5212312 The 1:87 version is designed primarily for resin printers, and the example in the photograph was printed on a Phrozen sonic mini 8K. For painting, It was first sprayed with white enamel overall, and allowed to dry. Then I worked with a brush and enamels to get the chipping and paint. After that was dry, a murky wash and a brownish drybrush helped to dirty up the look of the boat.
