Elegoo Mars 3 Pro Z axis Z=0 home switch trigger for magnetic build plate (+4mm)
Description
When I glued a 2mm magnetic plate to my buildplate and snapped 1mm spring steel buildplates to it, the home switch was not able to reach down anymore, which led to the build plate trying to crush through the screen or bend the arm. Squishing the spring in the ball-join og the buildplate to the absolute minimum helped to print this part, but also bent my setscrews. I designed this part to be a slightly longer trigger for the home switch to allow me to use the magnetic snap-on buildplate with ease. Just ptint the model, sand the backside before final curing to make it flat (but don't sand so much as to affect height), unscrew the stock trigger and screw in the replacement. startup printer and home build plate with attachments attached as described in manual. When homing, make sure to not leave a gap between screen and buildplate any thicker than a newspaper to ensure baselayer adhesion. About the print: ============ - There are slight tolerances to account for shrinkage - for the same reasons, there is a slot for the screws instead of singular holes - make sure, bakside is flat when screwing in the part (either sand or print flat on bed (could be hard to get off tho). This ensures the trigger and the slot on the base lign up. - when homing for the first time, go slow and ensure trigger is ligned up properly to avoid breaking something.
