Edge Angle Guide for Knife Sharpening and Stropping (15, 17, 20, 25 degrees)

Edge Angle Guide for Knife Sharpening and Stropping (15, 17, 20, 25 degrees)

Description

Just a few simple wedges that will help you get the correct angle when sharpening your knives on a stone, or when stropping them on a piece of leather. Unlike some all-in-one designs, these are relatively big and have a lot of surface area to press against to ensure you get the right angle. Remember, you want to rest the flat of your blade at the top/spine on the guide, not on your grind (the portion of the blade that angles toward the edge) since that is already at an angle. If you have a knife that is truly a full flat grind, like a lot of Spyderco models, then these won't be accurate for you at all - they will be too steep (too large of an effective angle). In that case, experiment with what looks correct. Try shallower, lower number angle wedges. You'll have to try them out. Eventually I will add new sizes and probably add the angle numbers onto the designs. This was just a quick 15 minute job in Blender because I personally wanted one.
