Parametric Shotgun Microphone
Description
If you enjoy my 3dmodels then please consider buying me a cup of coffee at my Paypal tip page: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZRLFSSPLF5S4Y Parametric shotgun microphone...Loosely based on the Shure VT98M design Dean Hedin Nov 2023 The model is parametric so you are free to alter diameter, overall length, and "slot gap". Altering "slot gap" will change the thickness of the slots. The number of slots will be adjusted accordingly along the tube's length. You can print this vertically on an FDM printer. To stabilize the model you can turn on the optional "supportfins" option. This will create four "rocket fins" to help support the model. These are designed to be easily removed in post processing. The intent is to utilize a noise canceling electret condenser mic element like: Digikey CMR-2747PB-A Taidacent 9750 Electret Condenser Microphone (amazon) or others The mic element should be mounted in cylindrical foam at the "wide band" section of the tube near the base. Such that the noise cancelling element has a single slot behind it (see diagram). If you need a pre-amp circuit then there is an optional circuit housing that will slip on to the back of the tube. You can alter the housing length to accomodate your electronics. A potential option is to utilize a 2.4Ghz Wireless Microphone Audio Signal Transmitting / Receiving module set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185466623341?var=693273737884 This set offers decent audio performance and noise cancelation options. Range is ~30 meters You'll need a small 100mah lithium polymer battery and a TP4056 charging board. I am able to fit all of the above into the main housing without the additional circuit housing. Bluetooth TX board is also possible, for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185466623341 There are pre-made 48v phantom power pre-amp boards available online and I think they will fit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225533402665 but I have not experimented with these. I have not included a mount. However there are many options already available on thingiverse. I am working on my own DSLR flash foot mount. I printed the model in ASA, 100% solid concentric infill. Using Cura ABS profile. 90 C bed temp.
