AnyCubic Chiron Filament Top Mount Using Original Hardware

AnyCubic Chiron Filament Top Mount Using Original Hardware

Description

This is an adapter I made to mount the original metal spool holder that comes with the Chiron onto the top frame. The angle and length of the original spool holder positions it just far enough to the side that the filament does not get pulled at any sharp angles during printing and no repositioning of the run-out sensor is necessary. The only other thing you will need to use this *optimally* is a standard m5 bolt and a matching T-nut to anchor it in place and prevent the holder from being able to slide left or right on the top frame extrusion. It WILL clamp securely around the extrusion, so it won't fall off without the extra m5 bolt if you choose not to use it. To assemble this properly, you will need to flip the metal bar that the spool rests on to the other side of the holder, to point it towards the back of the machine. Use the two bolts and T-nuts from the metal spool holder to fasten it onto the plastic mount. Insert the optional M5 bolt and nut here if you want it, and clamp the mount over the top frame of the machine. It must snap into place around the bottom of the extrusion to be fully seated. Slide into desired position (I recommend just butting it up against the plastic on the right side of the frame) and tighten the m5 bolt to secure it. This print does NOT seed supports and is oriented for best printing results. I printed mine at 0.2mm layer height, 25% infill, 3 wall layers and 4 top/bottom layers using a Creality K1 printer and Inland white PLA.
