Embrite glow keychain using vase mode

Embrite glow keychain using vase mode

Description

I had a few spare Embrite glow sticks and wanted to try out vase mode, so made a simple keychain. To print: flip the model in your slicer so that the narrower part where the keychain attaches is near the build plate. In Cura turn on "spiralize outer contour" and then set bottom layer count to 33 and bottom pattern to concentric. This will print the key-attaching-part solid and then print the rest in single-walled vase mode. Intended for a 0.6 nozzle and translucent PETG. I rarely use a fan for PETG but for this, I used fan = 100% after first layer, otherwise the thin walls would slump and collapse. A brim is probably necessary since the area that contacts the build plate is very small. Prints very fast and is surprisingly strong. The Embrite stick is held in place by the original neoprene washer and o-ring.
