Rain Sensor for claber irrigation system

Rain Sensor for claber irrigation system

Description

Some Claber irrigation systems have a 2-pin connection which supports the Claber Rainsensor. This sensor is a simple "bucket" with a floating switch. The problem is that it costs 40€ and it's way too much. So I designed this model that uses a 52 mm floating switch. WHAT DO YOU NEED You only need a floating switch with a M10 thread. The one that I used (shown in the picture) is long 52mm. HOW TO BUILD The operation of these floating switches can be reversed. Use a multimeter to check that when the floater rises it opens the circuit. When you are sure of the functioning, simply screw it in the hole under the base. I used a metal plate to mount the rainsensor on a piece of wood. HOW IT WORKS Inside the irrigation system, the 2-pin connection is always short-circuited (meaning there is no rain and thus the irrigation is activated). When there is water, the switch floats and opens the circuit deactivating the irrigation.
