Laser Cutter Engraver Cleaning Station
Description
This is a simple shelf to organize the supplies needed to clean the optics of laser cutters and engravers, including lens cleaning solution, cotton swabs and alcohol prep wipes. Alcohol prep wipes may not be compatible with some coated optics and alcohol should not be used on acrylics but isopropyl alcohol is good for removing oils as well as resinous debris from condensed wood smoke or other laser cutting byproducts. Two mounting screws are required for mounting to a vertical surface, or the base station can be used on a horizontal surface. The lens cleaning recess is designed for 8 ounce bottles of Zeiss lens cleaning solution, Amazon ASIN B00GPVQVCO. A lid is provided for the cotton swab container because it is essential that only clean swabs are used to avoid scratching delicate laser optics, where even a small scratch will result in a catastrophic failure when powerful laser light is applied. Do not allow abrasive dust from laser cutting to contaminate any of the laser cleaning supplies. The rectangular bin at the right is sized for alcohol prep pads but can also be used to store small tools or spare parts used when cleaning or maintaining a laser cutter/engraver, such as spare lenses or mirrors, air assist nozzles, etc. The FreeCAD FCStd file is provided so the part can be modified to personalize its use. G code is provided for the cleaning station and the lid. Both easily fit on most printers but were sliced to print at 200 mm/s on an Elegoo Neptune 4 printer. If your printer can't print PLA at that speed it may be possible to apply a universal speed reduction to halve the speed for pre-Klipper 3D printers.
