Filament Spool Ornament
Description
What's a better way to show your love of 3D printing than 3D printing a scale replica of 3D printing filament to decorate your Christmas tree? You can also use it as a scale prop, or keychain. Instructions: 1. Print the "filament spool" file. This file contains both parts of the filament spool that snap together. The tolerance is very generous, so just about any printer can do it! Use black filament for that classic look. 2. Print the "filament" file. This is where you get to have fun and use your favorite color filament to print a miniature version of itself. 3. Assemble and use some superglue to connect all the pieces. Bonus: This print can also be used as a cool filament test swatch/ calibration print! Print the spool in black filament and use the filament you're testing to print the center part. If you want to use it as an ornament, thread a hook or string through one of the 6 triangular cutouts. The same goes for using it as a keychain. Enjoy and happy printing! Please post a make so I can see all of the different filaments used!
