Duck Chip Clip

Duck Chip Clip

Description

A sequel design to my Gator chip clip. This chip clip grabs well and has a satisfying snap when it locks in place. A print-in-place hinge and spring are part of the design. Print the chip clip with the flat side of the head lying on the print bed. Supports shouldn’t be necessary. There isn’t a lot of flat surface on the printing plate so make sure you have good adhesion (use glue stick and/or brim). To ensure good strength print with at least 3 perimeter layers and at least 15% infill. After printing, gently move the lock mechanism back and forth to free-up the rotating joint and cam mechanism. This design will work in PLA, but will perform better when printed in PETG due to the spring design and the sliding characteristics of PETG.
