EQ 3.2 AR stepper motor for NEMA23
Description
I wanted to add a motorization to a (quite) old EQ 3.2 equatorial mount. I have only NEMA23 motors and a CNC shield for arduino. Since the stepper has 1.8 degrees for step, I wanted to reduce to 0.6, so I've added a GT2 20 T on the motor axis and a GT2 60T on the AR axis, bringing the whole to 0.6 degrees. Since the worm gear has 144 teeth, for each complete turn the telescope AR is moved of about 144*24/360 = 0.1666 degrees, or 10 minutes. 10 minutes = 600 seconds. 600 seconds / (200*3) steps = 1 second/step. Microstepping the motor to 32, makes a quite smooth movement in the sky. Needed 2 ball bearings 5x13x4: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B092QNQ3LK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Enjoy!
