Enclosure for QRP Labs QLG2 GPS Receiver with LCD
Description
This is a basic 3D printed case for the QLG2 GPS Receiver kit from QRP Labs that includes the optional 16x2 LCD screen. Originally, I had planned to tie the entire thing together with long M2 screws, but such long screws aren't exactly common, plus, there's no reason to ever open this thing anyway, so I ended up printing it out of PLA and gluing it together with Weldon 4. Note that this case does NOT have the wire for direct connection to any of the QRP Labs equipment's 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. This is just a USB version, which I assume you'd power from whatever computer you're running your comms software on, or just a wall-wart USB charger. If not, you probably own a file or drill bit. Note that there are many varieties of 16x2 LCD screen, and the models on the Grabcad were way off from the Sparkfun one I had in a drawer, so this may or may not fit your screen. Either way, good luck. The price is right, and I'm enclosing the Solidworks 2016 files for you to remix as you see fit. I basically had enough of messing with it, it's good enough. I printed mine in rainbow PLA because I found two sealed spools at the thrift store for $7.
