Polaroid Go Gel Filter Holder

Polaroid Go Gel Filter Holder

Description

Despite Polaroid making filters, there are only three colors so I find it a bit lacking. If you want more than red, blue, and orange then this is for you. There are two sections of gel filter that you will have to cut out. This is necessary because the flash will bounce off of the plastic and immediately back into the lens if they are not separated (this can be seen in the original Polaroid filter). It also adds a layer of functionality as you can add a colored gel to only one side at a time. You can have a red light in a normal photo, etc. There are a few files as one is easier to print but slightly less functional while the other is more difficult to print but easier to use. In the photos, you can see that one of the slots for the gel filters is thinner, this makes it very hard to print lying down (which uses way less support and cuts down the time), but it keeps the gel in place. This means that the notch for the lidar/distance sensor can be much smaller and less of a chance of the camera not focusing or flashing the “c” on the film counter/display. For the gel cut-outs: The left one is about 31mm tall and 28.8 mm wide. The “legs” on either side of the notch are 12.2mm on the left and 10.8mm for the right. That makes the notch itself about 5.8mm wide and 9mm tall. There is some variation between my cuts, though, so you may have to play around with it. The wider side stays on the left. It might help (but is counterintuitive) to cut a notch from the top right corner making it so that the only way to get the gel in and out of the holder is by the top left corner. The other one is much simpler and about 53mm by 31mm.
