Ventilation System for Resin Printers
Description
I received my Prusa SL1S a few weeks ago and love it. The fumes from the resins, however, are too much for my indoor office. Opening the window is not enough and actually spreads the odor throughout the house. I looked around for a venting solution and found a few but decided I wanted something with a more finished look. All the parts are printed with no supports, and I have included detailed assembly instructions as well as the Fusion360 project file. This way you can adapt it to your needs if you are using different hoses or PVC sizes. I would like to give credit to @JPMakesStuff whose builds gave me inspiration. Outdoor venting for SLIS by @JPMakesStuff (on Printables.com) I liked the idea of the gate with the switched fan, however venting into a vertical PVC vent didn’t appeal to me and I wanted something more enclosed. Fan mounting backplate for SL1S by @JPMakesStuff (on Printables.com) I used this and attached my Fan_Mount_Front part to it (which is why I show printing two of them). While the one JPMakesStuff created works, I wanted a longer adapter to make it easier to attach the hose. Of course if you have a different resin printer you will need an adapter for the hose referenced below. I created parts for two versions, one is wall mounted to vent the air directly outside and the other desk mounted to vent it elsewhere. I figured not everyone wants to punch a whole through to the outside of their home :). Generally the build is the same, just a few different parts. Outside supplies that I needed include: 12x M3 hex nuts 4x M3 50mm screws 4x M3 35mm screws 4x M3 18mm screws 3x M3 6mm screws 60mm Noctura fan 5.5 x 2.5mm DC power jack lighted push button switch 2.5" flex hose ring terminals for the connections 12v power supply with 5.5mm x 2.5mm male jack (I had one so I didn't purchase it) Z-poxy resin adhesive 2" Schedule 40 PVC Enjoy all!
