QOOCAM-FUN rig

QOOCAM-FUN rig

Description

This rig adds various mounts to the splendid small Kandao Qoocam fun and allows it to be separated from the phone and operated via a USB-C extension cable. 360 videos are super fun, if you can separate the camera from the phone you will unleash the potential of this small, cheap but incredibly well-designed and well-made FUN camera. 4k videos are not much for a 360 camera, but it's the maximum you can stream live, and for many things, it's ENOUGH! Remember this camera can be used as a webcam and connected to a PC. All ports mic and buttons are left accessible with cuts in the shell (check twice when you put the pieces together!) All you need to know, instructions, and suggestions are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7SPzehmVSw You will need to print the two parts with the feet “up”, no brim or support is necessary. Better if the layer resolution is 0.15 but perfect even at 0.2. Part list 4x M3x12 screws (cylinder or round head) and nuts. If you print the threaded part: 1x 3/8" to ¼" adapter to be screwed in the slot and positioned with the aid of a soldering iron If you print the heat insert part: 1x ¼" threaded heat insert. If you print the Gopro mount part: Just use a short and small Gopro screw or a simple 20/25mm M5 bolt. While I printed my definitive ones in PETG and PCTG, PLA is still a perfect choice. Known design flaws: (version 1.0) In order to mound and dismount the rig you need to remove the four screws. While the rig is on you cannot use any more the cleverly designed lens protector Please if you print it let me know what to improve and what you think about it!! About Qoocam Fun Here is a review of the camera from my good friend Yuquing from China. The camera evolved with new firmware, look at his other videos too. Not only he is a clever person, but also competent and passionate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvPY2EXUfMA THANKYOU to Kandao for encouragement and support in developing this idea, and especially in the person of Jasmine Lin for her kindness and personal support. Thank you, as always, to Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto for proofing, beta testing, and always raising the level of things. Tags
