Scales for Spyderco Para 3 Folding Knife
Description
This is a file for printing your own scales for the Spyderco Para 3 folding knife. These scales do not work on the lightweight models - they only work on models with metal liners. The design of these scales follows that of the originals pretty closely, though I plan on offering additional versions with other features and differences later on. If you want to use the solid plug for the lanyard hole, as seen in the photos, you can find that here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6423640 I've printed with 3 different manufacturers' PLA and they all fit fine, but you might have some issues with fit if your printer is not as calibrated as mine (or if it is better calibrated than mine...), so you might need to make minor adjustments with a knife (which, presumably, you have already). The liners snap in pretty tightly to the scales in my case. I generally start by pressing in the pivot side first, more specifically with the thumb jimping edge, and then pressing in toward the pivot, then snapping in the other end where the lanyard hole is. Please post some photos if you print them and use them - even if only temporarily. You can easily get away with printing at 25% infill, like those scales in the photos, but I'd recommend 100% infill once you have verified that the scales fit when printed from your printer. The "Show" scale is the side where the Spyderco logo is on the blade, and the "Back" is where the clip is found for right-handed users.
