Sliding Door
Description
dd a touch of realism by adding a sliding door to your diorama or gaming table. Each object is modelled 1-in-10 scale. You will need to rescale the model to suit your application. I printed mine at 130% (for about 1-in-8 scale). Print with the objects parallel with the print bed. For filament printers, use at least 20% infill, a brim and supports where required. After printing: - Paint the components. - Find four bearings and shafts that will fit into the pelmet. You may print out the supplied bearing and shaft models and use these. - Drill holes in the top of the door for the bearing shafts. Cut the shafts to a suitable length, insert into the drilled holes and press the bearings onto the shafts. Use retaining compound (i.e. Loctite, Superglue). I did not model the holes, as the position and size will be determined by the bearings and shafts that you select. - Insert the door assembly into the main channel and check for smooth rolling. - Attach the end piece. I used double-sided tape. - Attach the pelmet to the wall. I initially used double-sided tape, however, I ended using epoxy resin.
