Raspberry Pi case/sleeve

Raspberry Pi case/sleeve

Description

This case/sleeve is created for a specific usecase. I always use the passive heatsinks (see reference image) on my pi's but they have limitations in mounting options. As I wanted to mount the pi to my 3D printer (and some other pi's in other locations), I wanted some kind of sleeve to put them in, providing access to the camera connector, SD card, Power/activity led and 5V/Ground/TRX GPIO pins to connect a PWM fan. This case (which is a bit thick), is the result of some testing and is sturdy, yet compact enough, providing good cooling capabilities and the needed access. You can mount a fan onto the sleeve that doesn't need to be removed to take the pi out. The pi fits snug so it won't come out easily by itself. To mount to a v-slot rail (of your printer for example), you can just use M3 t-nuts. If you don't have any metal ones, you can use the t-nut model from DaVinci2000 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050607) and use regular M3 nuts. This should be sufficient for the usecase. This specific sleeve is a blank one. I prefer to print it's use (application logo/name) on them as might be seen in the picture.
