Powerbox USB-Banana from 12V
Description
I designed this to have a place form which all my Telescopic gear can take its power. The input is a 12V Power Supply with a 2.5x5.5mm Plug. The sockets are 4mm Banana and a row of individually switchable USB-Ports. No soldering required! Mind the Power-rating of the USB (5V3A)! Here are the Parts needed (no affiliate links): Banana Sockets: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B09MBT4DHV 12V-5V Converter: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B0CHVWBFD7 USB Hub: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B0B8783HJZ Input-Cable: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B00L78IGIC (might vary depending on your power supply output!) Power-Supply: really any you like and can bring the power you need. Manual: 1. Print the thing 2. Screw in all the Banan Sockets 3. Get some wire and connect alle the positivesockets. Connect all the negativ sockets 4. Cut off one end of the "Input-Cable" and stick it through the round hole 5. Make a knot in the cable for strain relief. Connect the poles to the Banana-Socket rows. 6. Plug the 12V-5V Converter in place (no screws or glueing necessary) and lead the cable out through the slit. Make a knot inside the housing. Connect the power supply of the converter with the banana-socket row. 7. Put the USB-Hub in place and secure with 2 drops of superglue 8. Connect the USB-Hub and stow away the additional cable (you can also cut it off but mind possible shorts!) 9. Test all the connections with a mulitmeter. Also test for any shorts. 10. Secure every Banana-Socket screw where the cables are clamped with a drop of superglue. 11. Close the lid and fix it to some place at your e.g. tripod. DONE...
