Modular Movie Mylar Box
Description
Considering the cost of lumber and the lack of models out there, I figured modeling and printing one of these movie mylar boxes would be way more cost effective. The box is built to fit 5x25in movie mylar signs with modularity in mind, meaning you can stack as many of these boxes on top of each other as you want and run electronics for lights through each of them. Each box with minimum supports uses just over 700g of filament, so expect to use about a spool per print. You can either slice the parts individually, or use the pre-arranged box parts to print entire boxes. Boxes require six 10x40mm dowels and CA glue to fit together, so if you don't want to use the 3D printed dowels you can use wooden ones. Work In Progress Goals: - Add pilot holes for easy mounting - Add options for printing 2.5x11.5in boxes - Add a hole for power supply through bottom box How to Light the boxes: I used these LED light strips for my box, but feel free to experiment with other lighting options. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1MKK4CL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Just run your lights through the included channels in the box and run the power supply out of the bottom.
