Raspberry Pi Baseplate

Raspberry Pi Baseplate

Description

Raspberry Pi 5 has numerous components soldered to the rear of its PCB. If you drive your Pi 5 as a cabriolet, then this baseplate will protect the delicate SMD components. It fits the other Pi "B" models as well. The four screws have the dimensions M2.5 x 8 mm. The (nominal) 2.4 mm holes in the baseplate should be just right for the screws to cut their threads themselves. Do not slip off with the screwdriver as there are delicate components nearby. Do not overtighten. If you have only longer screws than 8 mm you may proceed as detailed below, adapting the l_thread parameter accordingly. As always I include the OpenSCAD source file for you to adapt and/or improve: - Download and install OpenSCAD from https://www.openscad.org - Launch OpenSCAD and open the enclosed OpenSCAD source file (/File/Open). - Amend the parameters at the top of the file or even amend the code. - Save your changes (/File/Save). - Render the design (/Design/Render). - Export the rendered design e.g. as a .stl file (/File/Export/Export as STL). - Slice and print.
