Swarzy Cosplay Voice Amp Cover

Description

I wanted an in universe disguise for the voice amp I use with my mandalorian cosplay (and didn't want to poke holes in my nice leather pouch). The mandalorian builders group gave me a lot of great feedback and helped me tweak the design, so I wanted to share it. CAD files are public on Onshape if you want to customize it (search "Swarzy Voice Amp Cover" and this is V1.2 and V1.3). Sizing: Measure the inner dimensions of this in your slicer. You'll probably have to scale it slightly for your specific amp. I ended up scaling it up 10% to fit mine with room for velcro (the dimensions on Amazon were a little small). The amp I designed this for has the controls on the top and a jack for a wired mic on the right side when you're looking at the speaker. Fun features: 1) The back is open, so you can use the belt clip that comes with the amp. It's probably stronger than a 3D printed one 2) The top has a lid that slides for easy access to the amp controls 3) The "battery" (rectangular-ish extrusion off the side of the main housing) is hollow and is not quite flush with the back of the main housing. This gives you room to plug in a wired mic and hide angle the wire where you need it to be discrete. 4) The big knob turns. It's modeled around a mushroom shaped extrusion with ~.015 inches of empty space between them. Print with supports, break the supports off, and then crank the knob to break it loose. The knob sits high enough off the housing that you can get sanding tools underneath it. 5) There are 2 versions of the main housing. One has all of the little button extrusions attached to it. The other does not. I printed mine with all of the little buttons attached. It was kind of a nightmare to sand,so I gave you that choice. Printing: I printed mine on an elegoo neptune 3 plus in elegoo PLA+ rapid. Settings were cura slicer defaults unless noted below: 3 walls 10% infill Grid infill pattern Tree supports everywhere for overhangs greater than 80 degrees Speed 90mm/s Blocked supports a the top of the knob to keep it from trying to fill the space between the knob and the mushroom with support (not sure it would try in that small of a gap, but I wasn't going to risk it) See last picture for a visual of how I oriented everything in the slicer. I printed the amp laying down with the buttons facing up. I printed the grille laying flat on the bed with the plat side against the bed. I printed the antenna standing up. Probably an odd choice, but it didn't need any supports this way and it's printed twice successfully.
