PS5 Access Controller Alternative Buttons
Description
**Early development with limited testing - feedback welcome!** A selection of alternative buttons for the Playstation Access controller, including: * Flat button * Curved button * Pillow button * Overhang button * Long overhang button
Take care when first fitting buttons to avoid damaging the Access controller. These buttons are fitted in a different way to those included with the Access controller - the button should be angled with the outer edge down until the small tab on the back fits into the hole on the outside of the Access button slot, before then pressing the button firmly into place. To remove, lift the inner edge of the button. The Access controller should be turned off whilst fitting/removing buttons to avoid accidental clicks (hold the PS button for 10-15 seconds until the lights go off). For the flat/overhang buttons, removing the rubber label can make it easier to correctly align the tab with the slot. The magnetic attachment should not be needed if the buttons fit well, but can help with alignment and allows a higher amount of force before the button will detach. The magnets are built in to the Access controller base, so the buttons should have a thin metal insert (not a magnet), which should be less than 1mm thick. If fitting/removing the buttons is difficult, the "NoTab" variants are easier but much less secure; these are fitted by slotting the inner edge first and then pressing down, and removed by lifting the outer edge. Magnets are recommended to prevent the "NoTab" buttons falling off accidentally. The overhang buttons do not have "NoTab" variants as they rely on the tab for leverage. The tolerance for the correct fit is very strict, and depending upon the printer/slicer the buttons may be too tight or loose; printing at high quality is recommended. The tab and lip used to hold the button in place are very thin; the models should be printed in their default flat orientation to maximise the strength of these areas. Support is required but should be set to "base plate only".
Uses Access controller 3D printing information provided by SIE.
