Power Socket Mount on Wall 40mm thick (European Socket)

Power Socket Mount on Wall 40mm thick (European Socket)

Description

I wanted to add thin insulation to my wall in the basement. While I was working there I figured I would install a power socket aswell. But turns out there are no power socket mounts available (at least where I live) that can be screwed into the wall (only the ones for drywalls but I would need to modify them since they are too deep). So I made my own using a drywall-one as a template. The total depth is 40mm which fits perfectly with the 40mm styrofoam I am using. Later on I installed wood panels over it and cut out the shape. The actual socket itself rests on this wood-panel and I used long screws to screw it into the holes in the plastic mount. This might sound counter-intuitive but this way I don't have a gap between the socket-cover and the wood panel. Install: The socket mount is screwed into the wall with 3 screws (max. 4mm diameter!) The "tail" is used to connect a 15mm tube to it directly. Since I made the hole rather small, it is necessary to drill it with one of the drill bits seen in the picture. Then the tube can be pressed in (takes some force) If you need it in another orientation, simply mirror it in the slicer you are using. ATTENTION! Electrical work is very dangerous! I know what I am doing but you may not! Please only DIY when you know all safety precautions! I take no responsibility for injuries that might occure while installing this Thing!
