Filament Precision Clipper handle replacement v01

Filament Precision Clipper handle replacement v01

Description

If you look at the before/after photos, you can see my snips for my filament have a worn-out handle. The handle covers it came with were soft like bubblegum, so it wasn't surprising when they wore out. Because I have been experimenting with TPU filament lately, I thought I would try to print new handle covers for these snips. Since the experiment worked, I'm uploading the STL file for the world to use. ;-) Notes: - If you use PLA instead of TPU, this cannot work. The handle covers are made to bend when you put them on the tool to keep them in place, and PLA does not bend like this. - When you print this, there is a round narrow side and a flat narrow side. Orient the flat edge of the part to be the bottom of your print touching your print bed in your slicer for best results. You should not need any supports if you print in that orientation. - I paused the printing in the middle to change filament colors because black handles on a black tool on my workbench will become invisible immediately. The white stripe creates a contrast my broken brain will see right away. This is not a necessary feature of this replacement part. It is not built into the model. - the upside of printing with the rounded side up is that you will get a very fine grippy texture on the outside of the grip which I find helpful in using this tool. Enjoy!
