Under Desk Mouse Holder / Basket

Under Desk Mouse Holder / Basket

Description

This is one of the first models I'm sharing here after playing with Fusion 360 for a week or so, so it's somewhat basic, but it does the trick! :] This is for slab-style desks that don't have under-desk drawers themselves to help with de-cluttering your desk especially if you have a secondary (or more) computer with another mouse and keyboard. This basket can fit 2 Hama MW-500s or up to 4 Apple Magic Mice or 1 Hama MW-500 and 2 Apple Magic Mice I was inspired by my first 3D model which is also an under-desk holder for multiple remotes. This particular basket prints best with Fuzzy Skin ON at 0.28mm resolution and 10% Gyroid infill does the trick. I found, post-printing that I wasted a lot of material on my first under-desk project by having 40% infill which was just not needed. It made the model heavier than it really needed to be on its own but didn't help with rigidity as the holder wouldn't be carrying too much weight anyway, so I'm printing this one at 10% infill as well as adding cutouts on the back to reduce material use ( I got too lazy to do the sides, though :P ). If you intend to hold books or heavier stuff with this, I think you would be fine with increasing walls to 4 and infill past 50% My Fuzzy Skin settings are: - Fuzzy Skin: ON (obviously ;) ) - Fuzzy Skin Outside Only: YES (doesn't really matter if yes or no) - Fuzzy Skin Thickness: 0.1mm - Fuzzy Skin Density: 4 1/mm (this is managed by Cura) - Fuzzy Skin Point Distance: 0.25mm To mount, just use some strong double-sided foam tape or any other double-sided adhesive to mount this holder/basket under your desk. Generally, I found that 3M tape does the trick because this shouldn't be carrying too much weight.
