Old Town Rudder Handle-New tall rounded top
Description
This replaces the "ball" steering for an Old Town rudder handle and the tension knob. To install: break open the "ball" using a couple small screwdrivers/nails or even crush the useless thing with pliers. There is a 1 inch 1/4-20 screw inside that you will reuse. With my replacement handle you will need another one the same size. Next remove the tension knob by unscrewing it counter clockwise. The new handle fits using these two factory screw holes, raises the contact point and gives you addition leverage. The factory rudder pin should be replaced with a bolt (1/4-20 that is 4 inches long using Nylon washers as a smoothing/wear/bearing surface. This is a good guide to replacing the rudder pin ==> Bolt- steel washer-nylon washer-rudder hinge-nylon washer-steel washer-nylock nut. Tighten that until it's about too hard to move, then back off a little (1/4 turn +/-) The STL file is here and also a .gcode file that is ready to drop onto a typical printer (Prusa, Anet, Ender 3, Tevo Tornado, etc) with the temps of 245/65 - which is a normal PETG temp for me usually. Use your control panel to "tune" filament temp to your liking or slice it yourself! haha
