40mm Fan Duct - Replicator 2X
Description
After Dealing With Allot Of Curled / Warped Edges On My Prints, I (And Others As Well) Have Discovered A Pretty Good Solution. It Seems That Air Swirling Around Inside The Print Area Causes Your Prints To Cool Unevenly And Then Warp During The Print Process. Now To Be Truthful This Has Not Completely Eliminated The Warping Issue But It'S Stopped About 95% Of It. In Order To Use These Fan Ducts Properly, You Must Turn Around Your Fans So That They Pull Air Through The Heat Sink Toward The Duct. The Hot Air Will Then Be Blown Directly Out The Top Of The Machine (In My Case A Makerbot Replicator 2X). I'Ve Enclosed The Original Solidworks File As Well In Case Anyone Wants To Modify The Design. These Printed Very Well For Me With Support Material And A Raft On The Standard Resolution Default Settings In Makerware. The Duct Is Designed To Be A "Press Fit". Carefully Press The Duct Over The 40Mm Fan Body While Watching For Pinched Wires. I Left The Stock Fan Covers Off As Well...No Reason To Have Them On Anymore. These Work Well When Printed With Abs - I Have Not Tried Pla. Hope They Work For You Too!
