Rotary Table for Display Items

Rotary Table for Display Items

Description

When my microwave died, I scavenged the platter motor, thinking it might come in handy. Later, I built a small rotary table with it but thought the standard 6 RPMs would be ok for a spray painting, but too fast to use it for displaying items. Then I found very similar synchronous motors online with several different speeds. So here is a redesign of the original table using a 1.4 RPM motor. I enlarged the table diameter to 200mm. These motors vibrate a little, making some noise if they're just resting on a surface but are quiet if you put slight finger pressure on them. I hot-glued the motor down and it runs silently. A hex shaped drive nut slips onto the motor shaft to drive the tabletop. Four 625 bearings support the top from below. Three small slots were added to the tabletop to vent motor heat. The top is printed in clear PLA+ because I'll be adding LED illumination into the base. Here are links to the motor and bearings used: https://rb.gy/f3l6sm https://rb.gy/jsnjcj
