Festool Domino End Chamfering Jig

Festool Domino End Chamfering Jig

Description

When preparing for a glue up using Dominos, I like to put a small chamfer on one or both ends of the Dominos to help with the alignment and get the Domino started. This is especially helpful in tight places as you are fitting the Domino into the second work piece. Making these chamfers by hand is tedious, fatigues my hands, and I end up with sandpaper or rasp scrapes. I designed this small jig for my leg vice with a 45º angle to make this easier. I just apply self-stick 80-grit sandpaper to the grove, put it in the vise, and take 2-4 strokes on the ends of my dominos. Creates chamfers on both sides simultaneously! Uploaded pictures illustrate this. I can knock out a bunch of dominos in minutes without undo stress.
