H0 torpedo charleroi demag bogies

H0 torpedo charleroi demag bogies

Description

H0 model of a torpedo ladle car as they ran around charleroi, Belgium between the 1970's and the end of blast furnace steel making in charleroi. Cars with demag-bogies never left the charleroi basin as far as I know. Check out this link for an extraordinary collection of delicious pictures of these cars in service: http://rail-et-fer-en-gaume160.blogspot.com/2021_05_30_archive.html This is a fairly complicated model, but some patience/perseverance and a decent resin printer should get you a pretty ok torpedo car. I haven't fully finished mine but the unpainted model seems to work fine so upload time it is. The ladle and houses are the same as the rolanfer torpedo: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6243664 extra parts needed: 6x M2 nuts 6x M2 bolts 8 mm 8x m2 bolts 4mm (or self-tapping screws of similar size) couplers. Kadee for NEM or standard H0 hook and loop. 12x wheel set point bearing 10mm wheel diameter (or preferably a bit smaller) 24,5mm axle length. (my model has 10.5mm wheels and everything is very tight) metal wire in various sizes. I used 0,25mm, 0,4mm and 0,6mm. Printing: My model was printed on a Phrozen sonic mini 8K. Printing was mainly set up for speed (because I wanted torpedo car NOW.), so all low parts together, oriented flat. Gave me a nice line through the chassis, so maybe you want to put the main chassis bits at an angle. In the meantime I was printing the 3 large ladle parts standing straight up on an anycubic photon because they didn't need to be super smooth and the anycubic was a bit faster.... went fine. As the anycubic "fattens" the parts quite a bit I designed those specific parts with this in the back of my mind so you may find them a bit loose when printed on a better printer. As my printing knowledge is limited at best I'll leave it at that, good luck! assembly: as a picture says more than 1000 words here you can find pictures, which should save me writing many words. I hope it's somewhat adequate. https://flickr.com/photos/floris_dilz/albums/72177720311603015 Oh and of course feel free to let me know how you're doing with this model and/or send pics of the results! I don't have specific decals for this version but I just put some decals of the rolanfer version on it and that's good enough for me. If you want those decals for your model send me pictures of your printed, built and painted torpedo car as well as your address and I'll send you some decals for free (until I run out of decals of course)
