Chess Set v 1.4

Chess Set v 1.4

Description

v1.4 Designed on Tinkercad A full chess set This is my first design on Tinkercad Loosely based on the design from GameDev.tv post: Drawing of chess pieces by user Juan_S_Ortiz_S Mar. 2021) Link: https://community.gamedev.tv/t/drawing-of-chess-pieces/163896 Issues: There is nothing to connect the quadrants, I used gaffer tape to secure the four quadrants together on the underside. The design needs lots of supports for the overhangs for every piece. Lots of post sanding and cleaning. But I fell in love with my first design and after weeks of printing and reprinting I played my first game, accidentally dropped a bishop and snapped the head off. There is a massive graveyard of pieces for this one. The pawns used 15% gyroid infill but they felt lightweight. I kept all the pawns at 100%. One bishop is 15% but it feels too light. 100% infill for other pieces feels better to play with. The king was redesigned but the cross is still unbelievably delicate. The knight was redesigned and I'm still not proud of it but it still makes me happy. Slicer: Prusa 2.7.1 Printer: Ender 3 v2 Filament: Anet PLA+ Black and White 1.75mm Layer Height: 0.4mm first layer 0.08mm other layers Nozzle Temp: 225C first layer 220C other layers Bed Temp: 60C when printing 79C to remove from plate Perimeters: 3 Infill: 15% Gyroid for pawns and 100% infill for other pieces
