Printrbot Simple Metal E3D v6 Hot End Secure Fit Spacer

Description

This Is A Remix Of Aistaca'S Wonderful E3D V6 Printrbot Simple Metal Adapter. (Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:559657) Basically, You Need A Spacer To Increase The Length Of The E3D V6 To Make It Compatible With The Printrbot Simple Metal. I Modified The Height From 11Mm To 7.2Mm To Allow For More Metal On The E3D To Fit In The Extruder Clamp. This Is As High As You Can Mount The E3D Without Issues. Of Course, You Will Also Need To Raise Your Probe, And You Will Need To Change Your Fan Shroud. I Designed This One To Work With The Spacer: Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:964701 I Also Increased The Depth Of The 7.4 Diameter Inner Hole. It Was Originally 2Mm Deep. Mine Is 2.6Mm Deep. I Found That The Little Black Plastic Ring That Locks In The Ptfe Tube Was Taller Than 2Mm, Which Caused The Spacer To Not Fit Evenly. Now The Spacer Sits Flush. I Also Made The Entire Remainder Of The Inside Diameter 4.4Mm, So You Can Pass The Ptfe Tubing All The Way Up To The Top Of The Spacer. If You Cut The Tubing Short Prematurely, Just Stack Some On Top. Make Sure The Wider Side Of The Heater Block Is Facing Forward, Or Else It Will Hit The Back Of The Printer When Calibrating. See Picture For How I Mounted Mine. ---- Question: "My Old Ubis Hot End Is Broken. Can I Temporarily Mount The E3D V6 Without The Spacer, So I Can Print The Spacer?" Yes, That'S Exactly What I Did! Just Make Sure That: 1. Enough Of The Metal On The E3D Is Inside The Extruder Clamp For A Secure Fit. 2. The Pfte Tube Goes All The Way Up To The Extruder Bottom. Be Careful Not To Cut It Too Short! Cut Long And Keep Trimming Until You'Re There. I Don'T Recommend Using It This Way Very Long -- Just Enough To Print A Spacer. ---- Instructions: Filastruder Has A Good Price On The E3D V6: Http://Www.Filastruder.Com/Products/All-Metal-E3D-V6-Hotend Thisoldspoon Made A Great E3D Assembly Guide Here: Http://Thisoldspoon.Blogspot.Com.Au/2015/03/E3D-V6-Hotend-On-Printrbot-Simple-Metal.Html You'Ll Need New Firmware With The Proper Thermistor Settings. If You Have A Printrboard Revd, You Can Use My Modified Firmware, Available Here: Https://Drive.Google.Com/Open?Id=0B3Hjy10Eza2Lzhnmuhvrzdrisk0 If You Have A Revf Printrboard, Use Aistaca'S Firmware, Which He Has Made Available Here: Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:559657/#Instructions Reflash Your Firmware Using Printrbot'S Guide: Http://Help.Printrbot.Com/Guide/How+To+Reflash+Firmware/78 If Your Motors Are Acting Funky, You Probably Need To Invert Some Of Your Cables. See My Picture To See How I Had To Orient Mine In Order To Work (Probably Only Applicable To Revd Boards). Be Very Careful When You'Re Adjusting Your Z Probe. You Don'T Want It To Grind Into The Bed. I Would Start With An Initially High M212 Z Height And Carefully Work Your Way To The Ideal Height. (For Example, M212 Z5.00).
