Canon EF to Polaroid pack camera

Canon EF to Polaroid pack camera

Description

This thing allows you to connect a Canon camera to a Polaroid pack film camera, giving the Canon a 114mm lens and creating a retro-cool camera setup. It works best with full frame cameras. You will need to remove the back door of the Polaroid camera, and ideally will modify the shutter so it stays open all the time. I did this by opening up the shutter body and removing the shutter assembly, then bending the spring that closes the shutter so it holds open the closing shutter curtain. Alternatively, you can cover the electric eye and press and hold down the Polaroid shutter while taking the picture on the Canon camera. You will also need to install the focus scissor stop on the top bar to prevent the focusing scissors from opening too far, preventing infinity focus. You can choose between apertures by switching ASA and the scene selector. On higher end cameras, you will have f/8.8, f/12.5, f/17.5, f/25, f/35, and f/45. Because of the slow lens, DSLR cameras will have a fairly dark viewfinder. The focusing scissors should work normally. If the opening spring is too strong and pulls the focusing scissors to a closer focus, you may need to stretch the spring a little.
