FCX24 Shock Mounts

FCX24 Shock Mounts

Description

I've had a hard time finding any shock mounts for the FCX24 stock chassis. Here are four options for rear shock mounts. In the future I may develop some for the front as well. Please feel free to remix and make these better. All holes are sized to fit the standard FCX24 hardware. The "MidRear" mounts fit just behind the cab on the Power Wagon. They will also fit the K5. These should fit other models with the same chassis as long as the mounting position is open. No alterations are required. The mounts screw into the original shock mount holes on the chasses. A second screw is used to capture the tab of the shock mount. The "FarRear" mounts fit the far back mounting location. These can be especially useful with extended rear links. They do require chassis drilling. A snap off template is attached when the mount is printed. Use this as a drill guide to start the holes. Snap them off after the holes are drilled and then attach them with 2M screws from the inside of the chassis. Mounting this way provides clearance for the shocks. The MiscFlangesAndSpacers file provides a few options if extra clearance is needed. The flanges help adapt shocks meant for smaller models (e.g. SCX24) to the hardware of the FMS models. Files: - FCX24FarRearShockMountAngled - sliced at angle. Fewer holes. Requires chassis drilling. - FCX24FarRearShockMountStandard - squared shape. More holes. Requires chassis drilling. - FCX24MidRearShockMountAngled - sliced at angle. Fewer holes. No chassis mods required. - FCX24MidRearShockMountStnadard - squared shape. More holes. No chassis mods required. MiscFlangesAndSpacers - adaptive hardware that may/may not be useful. Print Settings Copy and mirror the objects in your slicer. Print "FarRear" mounts with tabs to the top. No supports will be required this way, but a brim may be needed for adhesion. Print "MidRear" mounts with tabs to the top for no support. Print laying flat for rounder holes. I've used .2 resolution and 20% infill with PLA and it is nice and sturdy. Enjoy! Tags: FCX24, Power Wagon, K5, micro crawler
