Cross in Fish Ichthus Jonah

Cross in Fish Ichthus Jonah

Description

I'm listing this as a work in progress because actual printing tests are waiting for a part to arrive to fix my printer :P I saw a necklace on Etsy of a cross inside an ichthus, and thought, "A cross in the belly of a fish. How 'sign of Jonah'!" (Luke 11:29-30: "When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, 'This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.'") "nisi signum prophetate Jonae" ("none but the sign of Jonah the Prophet") is in Latin since it's a present for my Latin teacher, who helped us read Jonah in that language. I've also included a version of the base without the words. If you remix the pedestal for something different to sit on it, be aware I chose to make the base top not quite as long as it is wide; you may or may not wish to change that for your project. Since the item is so tall and narrow, I recommend that for stability you print the base bottom at a high infill (I used , and the top and base top at a low infill (5%-10% is plenty). I include the file for the full sculpture, but printing it that way would use a lot of support material, and you'd probably want also to set variable infill to make the bottom heavier than the top, so I recommend instead gluing the three piecs (top, bottom top, and bottom base) together after printing.
