Soccer ball flowerpot mold

Soccer ball flowerpot mold

Description

I present to your attention models for making a mold for casting a flower pot in the shape of a soccer ball. To make the mold, in addition to printing these models, you will need two-component silicone. I used two-part platinum-based silicone, 30 shore hardness. The sequence of making the mold is as follows. 1) Print the "Ball" model. The better the print quality of the outer surface of this model, the less effort you will have to put into the final processing of the product that comes out of your mold. 2) Print the "Alignment" model with a line width of 0.4 3) Print the "Formwork" model in vase mode (Spiral mode) with a line width of 0.6 mm. 3 layers of bottom should be sufficient. 4) Glue the "Ball" model inside the "Formwork" model using the "Alignment" model to center the "Ball" model. When the glue is dry, remove the "Alignment" model. 5) Print models "2PartMold(Original)" and "2PartMoldFormwork(Original)" 6) Lubricate the models with a release agent, for example, Vaseline, and fill the combined models with silicone. 7) Wait for the silicone to harden and unpack the molds. The "Formwork" model will have to be cut. 8) Combine the prepared silicone molds and fill in your casting composition. Do not use a casting compound that must be heated to high temperatures to achieve a fluid state. Plaster, epoxy resin, cold-curing injection molded plastic, etc. are suitable. 9) After the casting composition has cured, remove the product from the mold and process it as you see fit. A plaster pot, after drying I sand it and varnish it. 10) I recommend printing the “pot” model into a plaster pot in vase mode (Spiral mode) with a line width of 0.6 mm. 3 layers of bottom should be sufficient. And the plant is already planted in it. P.S. I did not print the 2PartMold(Improved) and 2PartMoldFormwork(Improved) models and, accordingly, did not check how well they fit the main form. But in theory, the gaps between the two parts of the mold will decrease, making it easier to center them relative to each other. If you print them and everything works, write about it in the comments.
