Creality Ender 3 Pro LMM (Lowrider Motor Mount) - Jean R built
Description
Ciao, this is a mod I designed when I took interest in the speedbenchy #speedboatrace I think, and hope, it might be of help to anyone with the need to attach a motor at the end of a 4040 aluminium extrusion, not limited to 3d printers. On the Ender 3 Pro it allows the use of longer motors or two motors on the Y axis, or simply relocate it, without the need to cut or modify the Y bed carriage. Designed with my Ender 3 Pro in mind, it should fit at the end of any standard 4040 V or T slot aluminium extrusions commonly used on 3D printers. Being created to try out a dual motor Y carriage setup, there are two mounts types, one with fixed pulleys and the other one with an integrated belt tensioner. On the top you need standard GT belt pulleys with an internal 5mm hole diameter. Below there are two couples of F608z bushes so 8mm internal hole diameter. Before uploading the files, I updated the models with two versions: A) the video/pics test versions, where the bolts are fastened directly on the plastic B) the new ones "Nut edition" that have the nut recess so you can fasten them with metal M5 and M8 nuts to fasten them to the aluminium profile use at least 2 x M5 screws, there are 4 holes for it, in my case I used 4 x hex screws. The tensioner plate is fastened with 4 x M3 hex screws The tensioner pulley use an M5 fastened directly into the plastic, an M5 nut inside the recess you can insert it before the pulley. The carrier is pulled by an M5 thumb screw. If you intend to fasten directly into the plastic, it might be a good idea to use a thread tool like I did. There is also a Y stop sensor mount. In the video you see it tested with a 10mm GT2 belt. Have a wonderful day
