Vintage Radio Mod kit for Raycophone Peewee
Description
Everything You Need To Turn A Raycophone Peewee (Aka Racophone) Into A Modern Speaker Box. Including The Knobs! Yes I Know, I Can Hear You Now "That'S Sacrilege" And That'S What The Historical Radio Buffs All Told Me. This Forms Part Of A Light And Sound Show For The Gippsland Armed Forces Museum, And Is Attached To The Audio System, So That Parts Of The Show Can Be Broadcast On A Vintage Radio Cabinet. Designed To Adapt A Speaker Into The Cabinet, Along With A "Champ Amp" 0.5W Amplifier Kit From Jaycar (Cat No: Kc5152) The Frame Can Be Installed And/Or Removed Without Permanent Modification To The Cabinet, And Without Damage. Should You Attempt This Mod And Wish To Fit A Chassis At A Later Date, It Is A Simple Matter Of Removing 4 Bolts. The Knobs Are My Own Design, As Best I Could Model From The Existing Photos. All Source Files Are Included To Assist You In Getting The Most Authentic Finish. I Dipped My Knobs In Acetone For 20 Seconds And Then Allowed To Dry Upright On The Shaft Of A Modern Dual Gang Trimpot By The Fire. Note: Inventor Frame Parts Are Not Correct! These Were Made To Test Fit My Initial 2D Drawings, And The Drawings Were Then Corrected Based On The Test Fit In Inventor. *You Will Need To Re-Build The 3D Parts For Accuracy* I Advise Using A Paper Cone Speaker For More Authentic Sound. I Also Used 3Mm Mdf For The Frame, Later I Found That 3Mm Plywood Gives A Richer Sound (Slightly) Secure Bolts Firmly For A Clean Sound. Any Questions, Leave A Comment.
