JST XH socket covers / dust caps / plugs
Description
I designed a circuit board to support multiple devices with different peripherals, so the JST XH socket connectors on the board won't all be used for any one device. These covers insert into the unused sockets to encourage making the correct connections. The longer “x-axis" walls (length varies with number of pins) are designed for a 0.1mm total interference against the walls of the socket while the “y-axis” (constant length) walls have 0.1mm total interference against the outer pins of the socket. The top cover has a slight overhang to facilitate removal. I used a 0.25mm nozzle on my Prusa MK4 and natural/transparent PLA, so the STL files uploaded here have 0.5mm walls. You can put a different nozzle size into the spreadsheet of the FreeCAD file and see what happens. It looks like a standard 0.4mm nozzle could work, but beyond that one of the long walls will probably hit the pins. You can also adjust clearance, insert length, and other parameters in the spreadsheet within the FreeCAD file if you want. I hard-coded the B2B, B3B, and B4B JST XH sizes I needed, but then I went back and added a variable one where you can just put in the number of pins and it should be able to calculate the dimensions.
