Feeler Gauge Holder for Ender 2

Feeler Gauge Holder for Ender 2

Description

This fits the reinforcing grid in the filament spool arm of an Ender 2. I don't know if it will fit another model. I use this to hold a feeler gauge that I can swing over the Z-axis limit switch to quickly change print beds. I started by measuring the thickness of my two print bed pads with a micrometer and then selecting a feeler gauge with a thickness closest to the difference. I leveled the bed for my thinnest bed pad, a spring steel plate. I then moved the feeler gauge over the switch so it was between the switch contact point of the print head assembly. The width of the feeler gauge caused the Z-axis switch to be actuated higher than normal. Next, I changed the pads to my flexible plastic print bed sticker, re-zeroed the Z-axis, and checked the print bed height. It was too high, so I switched to the next thinner feeler gauge and checked again. Once I found the gauge with the right thickness I left that out of the gauge set and secured the set in the gauge holder. Now, to change print bed pads, I just change the pad and swing the feeler gauge over the limit switch for the thicker pad.
